#TravelGuide ✈️ Okinawa Travel Guide 🏝
Okinawa, Japan's most famous resort, is a bucket list destination for many travelers thanks to its emerald waters, unique Ryukyu culture, and laid-back atmosphere. Here are some must-know tips for planning your trip!
📍 Travel Hub – Naha
Naha, home to the airport, is the starting point for your Okinawa adventure. On Kokusai Street, you can enjoy shopping and local cuisine (Okinawa soba, Kurobuta pork, and Blue Seal ice cream). Shuri Castle offers a glimpse into the history of the Ryukyu Kingdom, and from Naha Port, ferries depart for the Kerama Islands.
🚗 Getting Around
Public transportation is limited, so renting a car is the most efficient option. While the monorail provides ample access to Naha City, exploring the northern and southern parts of the island is challenging without a car. An international driver's license is essential!
🌊 Must-see Attractions
• Northern: Churaumi Aquarium, Cape Manzamo, Blue Cave
• Southern: Peace Memorial Park, Seipautaki
• Nearby: Zamami, Tokashiki, and other Kerama Islands snorkeling spots
🍴 Food
Must-try Okinawa soba, goya champuru (stir-fried bitter melon), seafood rice bowls, and Blue Seal ice cream. You can also experience fresh ingredients and local specialties at Makishi Public Market, a local market.
⏰ Recommended Itinerary
• 3 Nights/4 Days: Naha City + Northern Tour
• 4 Nights/5 Days: Naha + Kerama Islands Island Hopping
• 5 Nights or More: Explore the Southern Region at your own pace
🌅 Travel Tips
• The sun sets early, so be sure to check the sunset time!
• In summer, sunscreen and a hat are essential survival items. Even in winter, mornings and evenings can be chilly, so it's a good idea to pack a light outerwear. • Reservations are recommended for popular restaurants, and advance reservations are required for marine activities.
💙 Okinawa is more than just a beach destination; it's a place where history, culture, and nature come together. For this trip, balance marine activities, cultural exploration, and culinary delights. It's sure to be an unforgettable experience. 🌺
