Ready to take your Vang Vieng adventure to a whole new level? The Nam Xay Viewpoint is an absolute must-see 🏞️ – but getting to those jaw-dropping views is a little bit of a journey!

It’s about a 30-minute hike up to the top, and trust me, it’s a sweaty one! Entry costs just 20,000 Kip (around $1 USD), and you pay at the entrance (look for signs near Main Road, Vang Vieng – the viewpoint area is open daily from 6:00am to 7:00pm).

Pro tips: Rock a pair of hiking shoes and wear clothes you don’t mind getting muddy. This trail can get pretty slippery, especially after rain. Stay alert with the handrails – some bamboo railings aren’t super sturdy, so keep your grip game strong and don’t grab onto any mysterious vines.

Pro tip - pack your water in a small backpack because you’ll need both hands free for climbing. Once you reach the summit, the view is 🤯! You’ll see sweeping mountains, endless green, and classic Lao scenery all around. Perfect spot for a photo on one of the motorcycles sitting at the top (I didn’t grab a photo on one…too scary)!
