Le Méridien Nantong
🌆 Lobby & Public Areas: Upon entering, a massive art installation resembling gravity-defying suspended water instantly catches the eye with its striking visual impact. The reception area is thoughtfully placed to one side with four strategically positioned counters, ensuring guest privacy while showcasing meticulous attention to detail.
🤵 Service Experience: From the warm welcome at the entrance by the doorman to the professional and attentive front desk staff, and the friendly lounge service team, every interaction radiates genuine hospitality, making guests feel truly at home.
🏙️ Room Experience: Originally planning to book a river-view suite, we found all king-bed corner rooms sold out on December 31st, with no upgrade options even via points. Initially assigned a high-floor executive river-view room, we were kindly switched to a twin-bed corner room (Room 15) after cordial communication with the front desk. Though slightly smaller, its unobstructed river vista was breathtaking—we savored 2024's final sunset from our window in pure romantic bliss.
🎨 Design Highlights: The hotel brims with creative touches—the "look at me✌🏻" mirror at the entrance, "find a new way" signage on the minibar, unique room number designs, and art blending Nantong's local culture with French flair. Every detail sparkles with designer ingenuity.
🍽️ Lounge Experience: Afternoon tea features exquisite pastries with ample coffee and soft drinks. Happy hour offers four hot dishes and varied cold appetizers—simple yet satisfying in the lounge's serene ambiance. With few guests, sipping drinks against the nightscape was utterly relaxing.
🍳 Breakfast Review: The extensive spread includes fresh juices, though local specialties could be more prominent. The noodle station's longer wait time was a minor drawback.
🍴 Chinese Restaurant: Discovering Marriott's complimentary $50 dining credit, we tried the weekend set menu at Le Mei Chinese Restaurant. Initially told the credit couldn't be applied, Ms. Gu at reception helped resolve this graciously. The signature opening set arrived promptly, with generous portions and excellent flavors for two.
🧹 Soundproofing/Cleanliness: Excellent noise isolation and immaculate housekeeping.
🏘️ Room Types/Layout: Diverse options with some offering exceptional river views, all logically arranged.
🛌 Amenities: Well-equipped facilities and artful French-inspired decor balance aesthetics and function.
💗 Pro Tips:
1. Book river-view rooms early to secure preferred types;
2. Newly opened, some rooms may have faint renovation smells—consider delaying if sensitive;
3. Prime location with Sam's Club, IKEA, and Wanda Mall steps away;
4. Maximize member benefits and hotel credits to enhance your stay.
Overall, Le Méridien Nantong stands out with its distinctive French elegance, superb service, stunning river views, and convenient location—making it a top choice for local getaways. Compared to another Marriott property in downtown Nantong, Le Méridien excels in design and service, especially with high-floor river-view rooms. The lounge's "blue hour" ambiance amplifies its French charm, while nearby Nantong Museum's blend of exhibitions and gardens is also worth visiting.
