Only in the early morning, when the crowds have faded, does Temple Street show its true self! I always have to take a walk on Temple Street from time to time. While the city is still drowsy, the old street is already awakened by elders carrying chamber pots. The oil in the breakfast stalls sizzles. The tips of shoes are damp with dew that hasn’t dried yet. This earthly life is never about grand gestures, but about every steady moment in the old street in the early morning.
