Nanyang, this low-key historic city, holds so many surprises! This time, I specially came to visit the thousand-year-old cypress hidden in the Medical Sage Temple and unexpectedly fell in love with this ancient and charming treasure trove of cultural relics~
🍃Must-visit Attractions
📍 Zhang Zhongjing Museum (Medical Sage Temple)
🕰️ Opening Hours: Year-round 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (last entry at 5:30 PM)
🎫 Ticket Price: 22.8 RMB
🚗 Address: No. 7, Medical Sage Temple, Wancheng District, Nanyang City
Standing under the ancient cypress tree that is 1,500 years old, looking up at the still blooming century-old trumpet creeper flowers, time seems to stand still at this moment. Every brick and tile here is steeped in the legendary stories of the medical sage Zhang Zhongjing. The three-entry, four-courtyard architectural layout is especially suitable for taking photos in Hanfu. On the day I visited, it was drizzling, and the moist air carried a faint herbal fragrance. The puddles on the bluestone path reflected the upturned eaves, creating an absolutely stunning scene!
✨Useful Tips:
1️⃣ The scenic area is not large but rich in details; it is recommended to reserve 2 hours for a leisurely visit.
2️⃣ The small square at the south gate offers a panoramic view of the Medical Sage Temple; remember to bring an umbrella for sun and rain protection.
3️⃣ It is currently trumpet creeper flower season; the red flower cascade under the ancient cypress is perfect for photos.
4️⃣ Nearby is the Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Street, where you can also experience traditional therapies like moxibustion.
