Surfers Paradise Discover the best beach fun

#September2025

Fistral Beach is a famous beach near Newquay in Cornwall, known as a surfing paradise and hailed as one of the best surfing spots in Europe. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, it boasts 750 meters of golden sand, backed by steep dunes and cliffs, creating a breathtaking view.

Fistral Beach is the birthplace of surfing, offering consistent waves year-round, suitable for both beginners and experienced surfers. To the north, the renowned Cribbar reef area boasts waves reaching heights of up to 9 meters, making it a popular spot for big-wave surfing.

Beginners can rent surfboards and wetsuits, and instructors will guide you from the beach to the ocean. Prices range from £30 to £50 per hour, including equipment.

The beach hosts international events annually, such as the Boardmasters Festival (August), which features surfing competitions, concerts, and art exhibitions. The 2025 Boardmasters will return to the beach, expected to attract tens of thousands of people.

If you're not a fan of water activities, this is also a perfect place to relax. The wide, clean beach is perfect for sunbathing, picnicking, or watching the waves. Coastal walking trails depart from the beach, allowing you to watch the sunrise or sunset. Shops, restaurants, and bars are also nearby.

Restaurants: Rick Stein’s Fistral (chef-turned seafood restaurant, try the fish and chips); The Stable (fresh oysters and local beer); and the beach café is perfect for a light bite.
