Oarai Art Museum

Located along the Oarai coast in Ibaraki Prefecture, this small private art museum was established in 1979.

Highlights include the "Landscape Window Paintings," which resemble framed paintings. Through the large frames, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Oarai, including the "Kamiiso Torii," a sacred gate believed to be the site where the deity enshrined at Oarai Isosaki Shrine descended. It feels as though you are admiring a painting.

The museum also features permanent exhibits of watercolor paintings by Shibusawa Hideo, the fourth son of Shibusawa Eiichi, a renowned businessman and cultural figure.
