Odawara Castle Park, Kanagawa

Review (Traveler using #cherryblossom25):
Cherry blossoms and a castle? Yes, please. Odawara Castle Park was one of my favorite #cherryblossom25 stops this year. The contrast of ancient architecture with fluffy sakura clouds is just breathtaking. As soon as you walk through the main gates, you’re met with rows of cherry trees that wrap around the castle moat — the reflections are amazing. I went during the Odawara Sakura Festival, so there were food stalls selling taiyaki and yakitori, kids running around in yukata, and live performances. At night, the whole park lit up, and the castle tower gleamed behind the blossoms — it felt like a scene from a samurai movie. There’s also a great viewing point from the top of the castle. Even if you’re not into history, this place will charm you with its beauty and festival spirit. A little off the Tokyo path, but so worth it. #cherryblossom25 for the win!
