If I had to pick the most impressive sight in Okinawa, it would definitely be Manzamo. True to its name, which means "a meadow large enough for 10,000 people to sit on," the expansive ocean and cliffs blend together in a truly breathtaking way. "Elephant Rock," perched on the edge of the cliff, was particularly striking, like a work of art created by nature. Despite the strong sea breeze, a strangely peaceful atmosphere lingered within.
Standing on the observation deck, the azure blue sea stretched out before my eyes, and the refreshing sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs was invigorating. The sky and the sea overlapped, shifting colors every moment, and the gradation was so beautiful that I found myself gazing at it for quite a while. The vivid colors, the scent of the breeze, and the uniquely relaxed atmosphere of Okinawa were something I hadn't noticed in photos.
Walking along the trail, I found small photo spots scattered throughout, and the smell of the sea carried by the breeze was truly lovely. We also recommend taking a break at a nearby cafe and enjoying a refreshing mango juice. It can get a bit hot during the day, so be sure to bring a hat and sunglasses!
However, the ocean color is less vivid on cloudy days, so it's best to visit in the afternoon on a clear day. The sight of the sun setting behind Elephant Rock, painting the ocean in crimson hues, is truly unforgettable.
