Must-Visit Museum for Cycling in Ordos

Cycling to the museum is a short 2-kilometer ride. The route offers an excellent environment with wide roads, minimal traffic, lush greenery everywhere, and a tidy, clean atmosphere. Along the way, you'll pass many modern buildings, whether shopping malls, residential areas, or various artistic structures, all exuding a fresh, contemporary vibe. The Ordos Museum is located next to the library, with a grand theater and cultural center across the street. Its exterior resembles a wind-eroded reddish-brown boulder, with bronze-colored metal facades that have a mineral-like texture. Inside, the irregular curved surfaces create a "canyon cave" effect. The museum has four floors: enter via the main door after climbing the steps. The first floor features "A Century of Light and Shadow—Treasures of Ordos Urban Memory" and "Dawn of a Great Cause—The May Fourth Movement and the Founding of the Communist Party." The second floor hosts the "Ordos Paleontology Exhibition" and "The Yellow River Flows Through the Grasslands—Ordos Historical and Cultural Display: Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties." The third floor showcases "Historical and Cultural Display: Qin, Han, Sui, and Tang Dynasties" and "The Long Song of the Great River—Shandong Cultural Relics Special Exhibition in Ordos." The fourth floor presents "Historical and Cultural Display: Prehistoric, Xia, Shang, and Zhou Dynasties" and "Jewels of the Mountains—Exquisite Jade Collection from Wuhan Museum." The museum's exhibits, both in content and quality, are top-notch and well worth a slow, thoughtful exploration.
