Waking up to Padang’s gentle light, I headed to Cerenti Restaurant at ZHM Premiere Padang, where the breakfast buffet felt like a curated introduction to Minangkabau warmth. The spread was generous, blending international comfort with local pride.

Local highlights included:
- 🥥 Lontong Sayur: Soft rice cakes in coconut curry, fragrant with lemongrass and turmeric, topped with crispy shallots and sambal.
- 🍳 Dendeng Balado: Thin slices of spicy beef jerky, fiery and addictive, paired beautifully with steamed rice.
- 🍌 Pisang Goreng: Sweet banana fritters with a golden crunch—simple, nostalgic, and perfect with coffee.
- 🧁 Kue Tradisional: Assorted bite-sized cakes like lapis legit and talam ubi, offering pastel colours and chewy textures.
