8.2 Pingtan is back.. I'm really breaking down..

Pingtan is truly stunning! But I'm seriously about to faint from frustration!! Because I didn’t plan ahead, I hit countless pitfalls 😭 Tearfully organizing a Pingtan pitfall avoidance guide, sisters planning to go soon, take a look! 💣【Lessons Learned the Hard Way - Avoid These Pitfalls】
1. Don’t rent a small electric scooter to circle the island! Strong UV + sea breeze can cause peeling in half a day. Self-driving or chartering a car is the ultimate choice!
2. Don’t believe you don’t need sunscreen on cloudy days! Pingtan’s "Blue Tears season" mostly has cloudy weather, but the UV index is off the charts. I got a clear tan line 😭 Make sure to prepare sunscreen in advance.
3. Xianren Well requires a ticket! Be careful of black cockroaches at the popular black reef beach! Don’t ask how I know 😭
4. Don’t eat seafood at roadside stalls in scenic spots! Shops in Beigang Village and Changjiang’ao overcharge tourists. Go to the county town’s "Yucu Seafood Roadside Stall" for clear pricing!
5. Don’t join expensive carpool rides to chase the blue tears! Local drivers have many tricks. Follow the "Pingtan Blue Tears Forecast" WeChat official account and take a taxi yourself—it’s cheaper!
6. Don’t choose trendy sea view rooms in homestays! Many are filtered. Choose clean homestays near the northern ecological corridor, where you can open the window to see wind turbines at sea~
7. Don’t wear long skirts to the beach! Jingsha black reef beach + Changjiang’ao wind turbine fields are not suitable for fairy dresses. Cargo pants + Martin boots are the perfect outfit for photos!
8. If it rains at night and there’s nowhere to go, I recommend visiting the "Weifu Society Art Store," which offers DIY, instant cameras, and lots of Pingtan cultural creations.
📷【Hidden Photo Spots】
1. Northern Bay Ecological Corridor: F3 viewing platform for wind turbines and sea + glass walkway. At sunset, the whole sea looks like orange soda!
2. Dangshui Village Swing: Navigate to "Sky City Homestay." The cliff swing costs money, with a backdrop of deep blue sea + white wind turbines.
3. Heping Village: Colorful stone houses + S-shaped road leading to the sea, full Instagram vibes. Best to shoot in the morning with good light!
4. Jingsha Village: Iceland-style black reef caves, accessible only at low tide. Wear non-slip shoes! Perfect for dark moody shots on cloudy days.
5. Changjiang’ao: Arrive an hour before sunset at the wind turbine fields. The tidal flats reflect the sunset glow, creating amazing silhouette vibes!
6. Houyan Island: The closest point on the mainland to Taiwan, with a red road + strange stone formations. The 68 nautical mile photo frame is a must-visit!
🥯【Pingtan Food】
1. Maoji Seafood Claypot Porridge (Main Store): Shrimp and crab porridge made to order, the porridge base is dense and fresh, dipping fried dough sticks in it is heavenly!
2. Nostalgic Fujian Folk Cuisine: Many Minnan specialty dishes, Xiamen’s satay hotpot, ginger duck, steamed fish dumplings from Fu’an, Quanzhou beef soup, and more.
3. Off Duty Today: Huge mantis shrimp, delicious seafood risotto, and great for photos!
4. Wenhai Seafood Dishes: Seafood caught and cooked fresh, freshness you can see.
5. Aga Seafood Satay Hotpot: Flavorful satay broth hotpot, refreshing and tasty drinks are super good.
6. Old Mazha Street Hotpot: Spicy tiger skin chicken feet, generous meat portions in the pot, very affordable. Pingtan is truly a treasure island! But if you don’t plan well, you’ll cry from frustration 😭 Sunburned by day and chasing blue tears until dawn at night, sisters, make sure to protect your skin and don’t get sunburned!
