Eluanbi Lighthouse is located at the southernmost tip of Hengchun Peninsula in Pingtung County, and it is one of the four extreme points of Taiwan's main island. Eluanbi Lighthouse was once listed as one of Taiwan's eight major scenic spots. Built in 1881, the lighthouse stands 21.4 meters tall and is equipped with a large fourth-order rotating lens electric light with an intensity of 1.8 million candlepower. It rotates once every 30 seconds and has a visibility range of 20 nautical miles, making it the most powerful lighthouse in Taiwan. Unlike other lighthouses with concrete structures, Eluanbi Lighthouse is a white iron round tower. The lighthouse is open to visitors, but entry into the tower itself is prohibited. There is also an exhibition hall that introduces the facilities and history related to the lighthouse. Compared to other lighthouse environments, this area is much larger and more open. Below the lighthouse is Eluanbi Cape, which is the southernmost point of Taiwan.
