Who knew! Wenzhou hides a "Little New Zealand" island that 99% of people haven't discovered✨
Guys! I just got back from Nanji Island last week, and I was truly speechless from the beauty! 😭 No need to fly to the southern hemisphere, this magical place is right around Zhejiang, with seawater as blue as if filtered, every photo looks like a National Geographic cover, and best of all, it's uncrowded and undeveloped. Zhejiang people really know how to keep secrets!
You must visit Dashao Beach! I stayed until evening to catch the "blue tears," where the sea glows fluorescent blue. Walking barefoot on the shell sand feels soft and super healing~🌊 Watching the waves glowing blue as they roll in feels like stepping into a galaxy. No phone can capture even a tenth of the beauty; seeing it live will make you scream!
Don’t miss the sunrise at Sanpanwei! I set my alarm for 5 AM, got my spot, and waited for the sunrise🌅 The natural lawn with oddly shaped reefs, and when the sun rose, golden light spilled over the sea. Wearing a white dress standing on the grass, my friend took a silhouette photo that’s simply divine! When I posted it on social media, so many people asked if I was in New Zealand!
I’ve got all the photo tips for you! Mazuo Bay’s sunset is incredible, with fishing boats as the backdrop, shooting against the light for maximum atmosphere; Meilingju’s vintage window frames are perfect for composition—standing by the window feels like stepping into an old movie; just stopping anywhere along the island road, with the wind blowing your hair, every snap looks like a cinematic masterpiece~📸
I’ve learned from experience about transportation, so take note! From Wenzhou South to Pingyang Station, it’s a 10-minute taxi ride to the dock. Be sure to book your boat tickets at least 3 days in advance! I took the fast boat that reaches in 1 hour. I recommend taking seasickness medicine beforehand; my bestie didn’t and was seasick the whole time~🚢
Here’s a super thoughtful tip! Book island homestays at least 1 month in advance; last time I booked last minute, only expensive options were left. Bring enough cash because the island’s signal is spotty, and mobile payments often don’t work. The sea is bluest from July to September, but UV rays are very strong, so remember to apply high-SPF sunscreen!🧴
Guys! This island is really worth the trip—few people, beautiful scenery, and so healing. I’m already thinking about when to go again! Who do you most want to see the glowing sea with? Chat in the comments, and I can share more hidden photo spots~😉
