Saint-Emilion, France

Saint-Émilion is a famous medieval town on the right bank of Bordeaux, France, famous for its status as a world cultural heritage and top wine producing region. The town is filled with cobblestone streets, Romanesque churches and limestone buildings, and is home to the largest underground church in Europe - the Megalithic Church. As the oldest wine producing area in Bordeaux, it is mainly based on Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes and has more than 350 wineries, including top wineries such as Château Cheval Blanc. Visitors can take a small train to tour the vineyards or taste the local mellow red wine.
