Tha Rae Ancient Houses, a Precious Heritage of Sakon Nakhon Province

The Tha Rae community has embodied French architecture hidden within the village for nearly 100 years. Some of the materials were imported from France.

Within Tha Rae Village, you'll find beautiful ancient houses over 100 years old. Most of the houses are built in a European-style concrete structure, combining French and Vietnamese architectural styles. Each building is constructed using the wisdom and experience of craftsmen and the unique brick and mortar construction techniques rarely seen elsewhere. Currently, the Tha Rae Subdistrict Municipality has turned these buildings into architectural tourist attractions in Tha Rae.
