Sant Elm: Mallorca’s Peaceful Beach for Golden Hour Swims & Sunset Dining

If you’re looking for a charming, laid-back coastal village in Mallorca where you can swim in crystal-clear waters and enjoy dinner as the sun sets over the sea, Sant Elm is the perfect escape.

Unlike many popular spots on the island, Sant Elm is not overly touristy - it has a peaceful, authentic vibe, and you’ll still find areas where there are only a few other people around, especially in the late afternoon. That’s part of what makes it so special.

🌞 Afternoon Swim in Crystal Waters: I arrived in the late afternoon - and it was the best time to visit. The sun wasn’t too strong, the beach was less crowded, and the golden light made the sea sparkle. The water here is incredibly clear and calm, perfect for a long, relaxing swim or just floating and watching the boats anchored nearby.

There’s a mix of sand and rocky spots, so bring water shoes if you’re planning to explore the shoreline. The views of Sa Dragonera Island just offshore make the setting feel extra special — you can even take a boat trip there if you go earlier in the day.

🍹Golden Hour - Drinks with a View: After my swim, I walked over to Na Caragola, a seaside bar right next to the water. I sat on the terrace with a cold drink in hand, enjoying the warm breeze and watching the sun begin to dip — the atmosphere was magical.

🍽️ Dinner by the Sea: As the light turned golden, I headed to Es Raor, one of the best restaurants in town for a relaxed dinner by the sea. I had grilled prawns and a glass of chilled white wine, all while watching the sunset paint the sky behind Sa Dragonera. It was simple, fresh, and unforgettable.

✍🏼Tips for Your Visit:
- About 40–50 mins from Palma by car (west coast)
- Go in the afternoon to enjoy a quieter vibe and amazing light
- You’ll find spots with few tourists and a very local atmosphere
- Bring water shoes if you want to explore rocky areas
- Grab a drink at Na Caragola
- Book dinner at Es Raor for a relaxed seaside meal
- Pack sunscreen and a towel: it’s a perfect swim-before-dinner place

If you’re looking for a peaceful beach day with crystal waters, local charm, and a sunset that stays with you, Sant Elm is a must. Come for a swim, stay for the golden hour — and leave with the kind of memory that makes Mallorca unforgettable.
