Yacheng Academy is a must-visit attraction for students!

Location: Yazhou Ancient City, Yazhou District, Sanya City, Hainan Province

Introduction: Yacheng Academy was first built in the fourth year of the Qingli Period of the Northern Song Dynasty (1044). It was relocated and rebuilt more than 10 times during the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was moved to its current location in the third year of the Daoguang Period of the Qing Dynasty (1823) and rebuilt in the eleventh year of the Tongzhi Period (1872). In the early years of the Republic of China, Yacheng Academy was converted into a public education center[2]. After Hainan was liberated in 1950, the Ya County People's Government was located in Yacheng Academy. After the Ya County People's Government moved to Sanya in 1954, Yacheng Academy was used by Yacheng Town Government until it moved out in 1990. On November 2, 1994, Yacheng Academy was announced as the first batch of Hainan Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units. In 2004, the Sanya Municipal Government allocated 1 million yuan to renovate Yacheng Academy. In 2007, Yacheng Academy was opened to the public. On March 5, 2013, it was announced as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units. In 2020, Yacheng Academy was renovated again.
