The Historical Village of Hokkaido Outdoor Museum, a large-scale open-air museum, was established to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Hokkaido's development. It features over 50 historical buildings that were actually used across Hokkaido from the Meiji era to the early Showa period, which have been relocated, restored, and reconstructed. These buildings are divided into four zones: urban, rural, fishing, and mountain villages, vividly showcasing the lifestyle of the time. Visitors can enjoy a unique experience of time travel to the pioneering era by touring the vast village on a horse-drawn railway in summer or a horse-drawn sleigh in winter. Located within the Nopporo Forest Park near Sapporo, it is a popular tourist destination where you can feel the breath of Hokkaido's history amidst nature.
