Legend by the Snowy Lakeside|Lake Tazawa & Tatsuko Statue

Lake Tazawa in winter is as beautiful as a myth. The water is so blue and clear, surrounded by mountains that stand silently as guardians. Amidst the snowy landscape, a golden "Tatsuko Statue" stands alone by the lakeside, as if narrating a forgotten tale.

This is the deepest lake in Akita and one of the most mysterious in Japan. According to legend, a young girl named Tatsuko, in her quest for eternal beauty, transformed into a dragon and now rests here. Standing before the torii gate, gazing at the snow-covered lake, you might feel, even if just for a moment, that the world has fallen silent.

Winter is the best time to visit. With fewer tourists, the tranquility and purity make it feel like stepping into a poem.
