A beautiful canyon formed by the Natori River, which pours from Mt. Kamuro in the Ou Mountains to Sendai. " "Lei" refers to the way the stone is rolling, and it was named in 1931 by Toyotaka Komiya, a disciple of Natsume Soseki and an honorary professor at Tohoku University. It is close to the centre of Sendai Akiu Onsen, a famous hot spring representing Tohoku, and many people visit it as a tourist attraction where you can easily enjoy forest bathing and autumn leaves.
The valley with strange stone giant rocks stretches for about 2 km, and a promenade is maintained for 650 metres in the meantime. There are many attractions such as a rock with a heart-shaped depression called "Peek Bridge ♡ Heart", which is certified as a sacred place for lovers, "Tenhaku Iwa" that seems to have been split in half with an axe, and "Kiman Iwa" that looks like a human face.
