Seongsan Ilchulbong: The Spectacular Sunrise of a World Heritage Site

Seongsan Ilchulbong, located at the eastern end of Jeju Island in South Korea, is a massive tuff cone formed by an underwater volcanic eruption approximately 100,000 years ago. Its summit features a bowl-shaped crater about 600 meters in diameter, surrounded by 99 sharp rocks resembling a crown. As part of the "Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes" UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, it is renowned for its magnificent sunrise views, considered the finest among the "Ten Scenic Views of Yeongju." Climbing to the peak offers a breathtaking panorama of the seamless blend of sea and sky.
