🌋 Seongsan Ilchulbong 성산일출봉 (World Natural Heritage)
Seongsan Ilchulbong, located on the eastern side of Jeju Island, is a magnificent volcanic crater formed by an underwater volcanic eruption. Standing 182 meters tall, its massive crater at the summit spans over 80,000 pyeong, making it an awe-inspiring sight. Known for its resemblance to a grand castle and as a prime spot for sunrise viewing, it is one of Jeju Island's top ten scenic spots and was designated a World Natural Heritage Site in 2007.
⛰️ Seongsan Ilchulbong
🏞 Hiking Duration:
This mountain is one of Hallasan's 360 parasitic cones and the world's largest coastal volcanic crater. It takes about 25–40 minutes to reach the summit. From there, you can also enjoy the sunset and take in the vast pastures, offering breathtaking views and stunning scenery of the peak from afar.
🏞 Recommended Total Stay Time:
Including the round-trip hike, taking photos at the crater, and enjoying the scenery at the summit, it is recommended to allocate 1 to 2 hours for a more relaxed experience.
📌 Key Travel Information
🌞 Best Time to Visit:
Definitely early morning! Watching the sunrise slowly emerge from the sea at the summit is the highlight of this spot. However, I think the sunset view is equally stunning!

* Winter (November–February): Approximately 7:00 AM ~ 5:50 PM.

🧜♀️ Haenyeo Performance
Location: At the seaside at the foot of the mountain (within walking distance).
Time: Usually one performance per day, around 2:00 PM.
Note: The performance itself is free but is highly weather-dependent. Be sure to check with the on-site management office upon arrival for the day's schedule.
