The Shanghai Astronomy Museum opened on July 18, 2021, located in the Lingang area, Pudong district, Shanghai, China. With an exhibition space of over 38,000 square meters, it is the largest astronomy museum in the world. The main building of the museum was designed by Ennead Architects from New York, USA, with no straight lines or right angles to reflect the shapes and movements of the universe. This design was inspired by the fundamental laws of astrophysics. Inside, the museum is divided into three main zones: "Home," "Universe," and "Journey." Visitors can experience a simulated sun, the solar system, and zero-gravity simulations, just like exploring space for real.
Getting there: The museum is located on the shore of Dishui Lake in Lingang city. You can take Metro Line 16 to Dishui Lake Station, Exit 4, then walk about 500 meters to the museum, or take a taxi (Didi) for about 10 minutes. The entrance ticket costs 30 yuan per person and can be purchased on-site. The ticket counter closes at 3:00 PM, and the museum closes at 4:00 PM.
The Shanghai Astronomy Museum is a must-visit for those interested in astronomy and space. With its outstanding design and fascinating exhibitions, it is highly recommended for anyone visiting Shanghai.
