#TravelChina Shanghai Greenhouse – From an old steel factory to a cutting-edge greenhouse design!
This place transformed the old Shanggang Third Steel Factory into a greenhouse without leaving the original structure behind! The steel frame from the old factory was used for the entire new structure and paired with freeform clear glass that reflects light, creating a design inspired by the “Yin-Yang” concept—strong yet light. It’s super cool, and the use of renewable energy inside reduces various energy consumptions. Honestly, it’s pure genius.
Inside, there are 3 main zones:
• Sand Mirage – cacti, olives, desert plants
• Cloud Forest – tropical rainforest, dense ferns
• Cloud Canyons – vertical flower garden with vibrant colors and a spectacular waterfall
How to get there:
Take Metro Line 7, get off at Houtan Station (Exit 4), then walk 14 minutes, or take a Didi from downtown for no more than 30 yuan.
Entrance fee: We booked through Trip for 450 baht per person.
