✅Also known as the "China Shang Culture Museum", it is a national second-class museum in China, established in October 1983. The museum's basic exhibits are divided into two parts: the "Exhibition of Ancient Civilization in Shangqiu" and the "Exhibition of Commercial Civilization", which showcase the rich culture of Shangqiu and the fascinating chapters of Chinese commercial civilization. It is reported that the Shangqiu Museum has a collection of nearly 20,000 cultural relics, mostly from field archaeological excavations and private collections in eastern Henan. Its main collections include bronzes, jades, pottery figurines, and gilded silver chariot and horse ornaments unearthed from the tombs of the Liangyuan kings of the Western Han Dynasty.
The Exhibition of Ancient Civilization in Shangqiu is divided into six parts: the Ancestors of the Ancient Times, the Ancient Capital of the Shang Dynasty, the Song Dynasty's Succession to the Shang Dynasty, the Land of the Han Dynasty, the Fate of the Nation, and the City of Guide Prefecture. The exhibition uses a combination of real objects and scene restoration to showcase the glorious history of Shangqiu from ancient times to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The exhibits mainly consist of cultural relics unearthed in Shangqiu, including bone, horn, and ivory artifacts, pottery, porcelain, jade, bronzes, and Han Dynasty stone carvings.
