We arrived at Wangxian Valley at 3 p.m. under a gloomy sky, expecting dull hues—but the weather surprised us. The cool, comfortable air wrapped around the valley like a soft blanket, while mist clung to the cliffs and ancient rooftops, transforming the landscape into a scene straight out of a watercolor painting. The muted light deepened the emerald greens of the forests and made the wooden bridges and cascading streams glow with an almost mystical charm. Far from spoiling the view, the moody atmosphere gave the valley an ethereal quality, as if we’d stepped into a hidden realm where time moved slower.
