Songzanlin Monastery (Little Lama Temple)

Songzanlin Monastery, also known as Little Lama Temple, is modeled after the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet.

Songzanlin Monastery is a must-visit destination when traveling to Shangri-La. Since the monastery requires climbing a fairly high staircase, it is recommended to take your time and not rush during your visit.

The monastery and the ticketing area are located in separate zones, quite far apart. Therefore, when purchasing tickets, it is advisable to also buy a bus ticket.

Tip: Tourists staying in the Old Town can purchase a one-way bus ticket without needing to buy a return ticket. For the return trip, you can take Bus No. 3 from the front of the monastery back to the Old Town. The fare for Bus No. 3 is 2 yuan.
