Must-See Attractions

- Huizhou Ancient City: With its classic black-tile and white-wall Hui-style architecture, this city is one of the best-preserved ancient cities in China. Be sure to visit Doushan Street, Xu Guo Stone Archway, and the government office. They are full of historical charm.

- Yuliang Ancient Town: Known as the "Dujiangyan of Jiangnan," this town has perfectly preserved the authentic residential style of southern Anhui. It was once a must-pass route for ancient Huizhou merchants. The ancient customs and flavors create a unique atmosphere.

- Zhanqi Village Fish Lantern Festival: The village is small, but the festive atmosphere is strong. During the holidays, you can enjoy a lively long-table banquet and make your own fish lanterns. As night falls, join the procession of fish lanterns, touch the heads and tails of the fish, and bring good luck to the new year.

- Yangchan Earthen Houses: Although located halfway up the mountain, some distance from the county seat, it is definitely worth a visit. The earthen houses are built along the mountainside, and after the rain, the clouds and mist make it look like a fairyland. If you like sunsets, the sunset view here will definitely satisfy you.

- Xixinan Ancient Village: In summer, it's like a scene from The Wizard of Oz, with small bridges, flowing water, and picturesque scenery at every turn. It's a dreamy, seasonal wonderland. However, we went in winter, and it was a bit bleak, but it also had a quiet charm.

Travel Tips

- 🔘All these attractions are free, and you can easily visit them in two days without feeling rushed.

- 🔘Public transportation in Huizhou is not very convenient, and the attractions are far apart. Renting a car and driving yourself is the best option for freedom and convenience.

- 🔘Be careful when taking a taxi in She County! Many DiDi drivers add extra charges after accepting an order. When we took a taxi back from Yangchan, the platform showed CNY 40, but the driver asked for CNY 100. Be sure to agree on the price in advance.
