Autumn Charm at Zhongshan Park, Warmth at Haoze Hotel

Taking advantage of the holiday break, I finally had the chance to travel to Shenyang with my parents. Compared to the bustling shopping districts, we wanted to find a place where my parents could slow down, enjoy the scenery, and reminisce about the past. Zhongshan Park became the first stop of our trip. Before setting off, I worried that the autumn park might seem a bit desolate, but the moment we stepped into the park, all concerns were dispelled by the vibrant scene before us.
Inside Zhongshan Park, it was as if a palette had been overturned. Large patches of chrysanthemums swayed in the breeze, with layers of golden yellow, pale pink, and pure white petals. Sunlight shone on the sea of flowers, reflecting tiny sparkling lights; in the rose garden, late-blooming flowers were still bright and beautiful, attracting bees to flit busily among the blossoms. My parents’ steps naturally slowed down. My mother took out her phone and repeatedly adjusted the angle to photograph a cluster of blooming chrysanthemums, while my father patiently waited nearby, helping to straighten my mother’s clothes and softly saying, “The light is better here; the photos will look more vibrant.” We strolled along the paths, and the historic buildings marked by the passage of time caught our attention — red brick walls covered with vines, and old wooden pavilions that, despite years of weathering, remained sturdy. My parents stood in front of the buildings, recalling scenes from their youth, exchanging stories with nostalgic looks in their eyes. I raised my camera to capture their smiling faces side by side, with the flowers and old buildings intertwined in the background, making every photo full of stories. Seeing themselves in the pictures, my parents smiled brightly and said, “This place is so photogenic; we must share it with old friends when we get back.”
As the sun set, a hint of tiredness appeared on my parents’ faces, so we headed to the Haoze Hotel in Shenyang, which we had booked in advance. Opening the hotel door, the warm lighting and the staff’s friendly smiles instantly made us feel welcome. Entering the room, the spacious and bright space was refreshing, with a soft large bed and tidy bedding. Outside the window, scattered night lights could be seen. My parents couldn’t help but exclaim, “This room is really comfortable.” What surprised us even more was that the staff, upon learning we were staying with our parents, proactively brought non-slip slippers and a foldable foot soaking basin, thoughtfully informing us, “You can adjust the water temperature yourself; soaking your feet can relieve fatigue.” That evening, my parents soaked their feet and quietly chatted about the day’s fun at the park, their faces full of contentment. Throughout the stay, whether it was the staff’s prompt response to our needs or the hotel’s meticulous service, my parents felt deeply cared for, allowing us to completely relax.
Looking back on this trip to Shenyang, there was no rushed itinerary, only warm moments spent with my parents. At Zhongshan Park, we enjoyed flowers and old buildings with them, capturing their smiles in photos; at Haoze Hotel, the comfortable environment and thoughtful service allowed my parents to rest well. This was not just a simple trip but a journey full of warmth and companionship — when my parents lay down to sleep peacefully, I knew that this comfort and happiness were the most precious gains of the trip.
