In the spring, the most important thing you can't miss in Gankeng Ancient Town is the wanton blooming bougainvillea. Walking along the stone road, you can inadvertently encounter clusters of warmly blooming bougainvillea. They are either climbing along the ancient eaves or swaying by the stream. The rose-red and light pink flowers complement the white walls and black tiles.
