A guide to traveling in Tohoku using the East Japan Pass

Direct flights from Incheon Airport to the Tohoku region are available to Sendai and Aomori. Sendai is more convenient as it is closer to the city and offers flights five times a week.

Upon arriving in Sendai, exchange your JR Pass. The Tohoku Pass covers the six prefectures of Tohoku: Fukushima, Yamagata, Miyagi, Iwate, Akita, and Aomori.

Explore Yamagata Prefecture's Yamadera and Sakata. Visit Fukushima Prefecture's Komine Castle and Ouchi-juku. Also, travel to Iwate Prefecture's Tono City and Kamaishi.
