Recommended Nagoya Suburban Small Town Tour Itinerary

From Nagoya, you can travel to Gifu, Takayama, Shirakawa-go, Kanazawa, Toyama, Takaoka, Wajima, and Suzu using the Shoryudo Highway Bus Pass. This pass makes planning your Nagoya suburban small town tour much easier.

💛 Takayama
Takayama is a representative small town near Nagoya that captures the essence of old Japan. The hot springs here are excellent, and I was very satisfied with my visit.

💛 Shirakawa-go
Shirakawa-go is another famous small town near Nagoya. The unique large-roofed houses are quite striking, and this village has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

💛 Kanazawa
Kanazawa boasts a large local market and plenty of attractions. I visited a street where geishas are said to still reside, but unfortunately, I didn’t see any geishas and only had a meal there. I felt a bit disappointed, so I plan to visit again next time.
