Come here, come listen to the legend. How long? Who's willing to wait? 5555 It's been a long time, folks! Come quickly! 😝🤭
"Legend of Khao Yai Thiang" 👵🏻 by a villager named Sanan Chulasutthi tells the story of how, back when it was still a forest, before the villagers settled there 40-50 years ago, Grandma Thiang and Grandpa Sing Dam were the first to ascend the mountain. They cleared the forest, built houses, farmed, grew vegetables, and planted rice. Decades later, Grandma Thiang died at Khao Krajom, a neighboring hill. As for Grandpa Sing Dam, no one mentions him because it was so long ago. It's like a local legend. When Grandma Thiang died, her body was left alone on Khao Krajom. Then, around 1998, the village headman dreamed of an old woman who came to him and asked him to dig up bones at Khao Krajom and make merit for her. He gave her the location, and the villagers dug up the bones as he had hoped. The villagers brought the bones to make merit, and built a shrine at the village entrance, which has been called the Grandma Thiang Shrine and the Grandpa Sing Dam Shrine ever since.
