Suizhou Cultural Exploration Tour - One-Day Tour from Wuhan

This unassuming town is home to Yan Emperor Shennong, the ancestor of the Chinese nation, and is also renowned as the hometown of Chinese chime bells. A day trip from Wuhan allows you to immerse yourself in this living epic and embark on a cultural exploration spanning thousands of years in the land known as the "Land of the East of the Hand."

Passing the sacred flame platform, standing in the ancestral worship and blessing area (Yan Emperor Shennong) in the Ancestral Hall, the Yan Emperor Shennong Hall is solemn and majestic. As the ancestral worship ceremony reaches the hall, fairies fly overhead across the square, scattering petals. "Ode to the Yan Emperor," a situational drama, depicts the Yan Emperor's achievements in teaching the people to farm and tasting hundreds of herbs. On the east side of the square, a 95-foot-tall statue of the Yan Emperor Shennong stands majestically, holding a wheat ear and gazing into the distance, as if still watching over the land.

Transcending to the Western Zhou Dynasty, more than two thousand years after the Yan Emperor's time, the cultural relics exhibition area (Suizhou Museum) is a must-see next stop. Its collection of tens of thousands of artifacts is a dazzling sight. We recommend first visiting the "Bells Ringing Across the World" exhibition hall to visually "scan" the Zenghouhe chime bells, which are five hundred years older than the Zenghouyi chime bells. The textures etched by time on the bronze are vividly revealed. Moving to the second floor, the special exhibition "Searching for the Lost Ancient E State" showcases bronze artifacts such as the "Four Divine-Faced Artifacts," showcasing the opulence and mystery of E State bronze smelting and marveling at the exquisite bronze craftsmanship already practiced during the Western Zhou Dynasty.

If you've been curious about the detail-obsessed Zenghouyi at the Hubei Provincial Museum, consider walking an additional ten minutes to the ruins (Zenghouyi Tomb Site). The tomb pit is shaped like a "three-bedroom, one-living room" structure. Although the artifacts have been relocated to the museum and the original site is now empty, the museum fully documents the conservation process from its discovery in 1977 to the present day, allowing visitors to reminisce about the excavation site and its astonishing discoveries.

The origins of China, the echoes of chime bells, a cultural renewal spanning millennia! Suizhou Yan Emperor Cultural Tourism Area has been renovated and upgraded. The three core scenic spots of Yan Emperor Shennong Scenic Area (ancestor worship and blessing area), Suizhou Museum (cultural relics display area), and Zenghouyi Tomb Site (site tour area) are linked together to reshape history with science and technology, starting an immersive journey of "traveling through the starting point of Chinese civilization". One step covers a thousand years, allowing the soul to settle in the depths of history.
