Slow Suzhou

If you visit Suzhou, don’t just stick to the famous gardens — slow down and get lost in its quieter corners.

I started my morning walking along Pingjiang Road, but the real magic is in the little side alleys and narrow canals that branch off from it. No crowds, just silence, water, and old walls covered in ivy.

One garden I truly recommend is the Couple Garden — small, peaceful, and full of charm. I had it almost to myself.

Along the way, I took my time exploring forgotten bridges and tiny stone paths. Suzhou is made for wandering — don’t follow a strict plan.

In the evening, I returned to the canals — this time with no destination, just walking slowly and letting the city reveal itself.
