The Master of the Nets Garden (网师园) is one of China's most exquisite gardens and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Established in the 12th century, this garden is considered a benchmark of classical Chinese garden art, where nature, architecture, and philosophy are harmoniously integrated in miniature. Despite its modest size, the garden is skillfully designed: winding pathways, delicate pavilions reflected in the water, 'moon gates,' and artificial rock formations create a sense of depth and spaciousness. Every element is thoughtfully crafted and imbued with meaning, with views framed by windows and openings resembling living paintings.
💡 Practical Tip
Be sure to visit the evening program 'Night Garden' (from March to November). You can enjoy traditional performances, including music, dance, and opera, in various corners of the garden, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
Address: 11 Kuojiatou Lane, Gusu District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province (江苏省苏州市姑苏区阔家头巷11号).
