Guguan Seven Heroes - Dongmao Mountain

Dongmao Mountain, with an elevation of 1,692 meters, ranks fifth among the Guguan Seven Heroes. Originally a maintenance road for Taiwan Power Company, the trail offers stunning scenery and rich ecological diversity. The hiking path features gentle zigzag slopes, making it wide and easy to traverse—a mountain that is very accessible to hikers.

Starting from the Guguan Dadaoyuan, the single trek to Dongmao Mountain is approximately 7 kilometers. The trail is mostly gentle zigzag slopes, with only the last 500 meters near the triangulation point featuring a thrilling steep rock wall. Many hikers enjoy taking dramatic photos at this "thrilling steep rock wall," capturing the sense of accomplishment akin to climbing the cliffs of Taiwan's highest peaks.

On the way to Guguan, the contrasting colors of the yellow-flowered golden trumpet trees and bougainvillea are particularly eye-catching. We even stopped the car to take some beautiful photos.
