InterContinental Taichung is a very new hotel. From the lowest to the highest floors, guests can experience different Taiwanese scenery. Many details on the connection between different materials are done very meticulously. Hanging in the center of the lobby is a Czech crystal chandelier, which was inspired by the energy and light emitted by the Big Bang of a cosmic supernova. In fact, you can stare at it for a long time while standing in the lobby. The decoration in the middle of the lobby uses light yellow flowers and curves drawn by bamboo, letting the softness of spring permeate.
Staying in a small suite, the room doorplate is made of 100% recyclable glass, which is manually pressed by Chunchi Glass craftsmen to look like mountains at different altitudes in Taiwan. The wine is ok, but the dishes do not reflect the local characteristics such as Taichung cuisine.
