The Southern Courtyard: A New Chapter in History at the National Palace Museum

Choose to stay at the Taipei Garden Hotel, located near the intersection of Ximending and Zhongzheng District, where bustling activity and tranquility coexist. The rooms are decorated with an oriental flair, and at night, you can enjoy the silhouette of Guanyin Mountain in the distance, offering a unique charm. Today, we visited the lesser-known Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum in Taipei to explore a cultural atmosphere distinct from the Northern Branch.
The architecture of the Southern Branch appears to float on water, with exhibition halls focusing on Asian cultural exchanges. From Persian pottery to Indian sculptures, the exhibits weave a dialogue of civilizations spanning thousands of years. Though the collection is not vast, each piece is exquisite, inviting visitors to pause and reflect. Particularly enchanting is the serene scenery by the waterfront, where reflections merge history with modernity. Returning to the Taipei Garden Hotel, I brewed a pot of Taiwanese high mountain tea and closed my eyes, as if the tranquility of the south still whispered softly in my ears.
