If you are in Taipei and you want to check out the museums you need to check out the 228 peace park while you are there, it’s beautiful and it Is free! The National Museum Of Taiwan and the Natural History museum are bases at this park, along with the peace memorial museum - all three can be visited in the same day.
The park also has a lot of sculptures, modern art and of course the national peace memorial itself - giving the park it’s name. There are also some pagodas, locomotive engines and an old Japanese Radio tower - left over from the war. All of these little elements give the park such a quirky atmosphere, everywhere you look it’s completely different - there really is something for everyone.
I got there for about 7:30 grabbed a coffee and wandered around waiting for the museums to open at 9AM! Get off the metro at Taipei University Hospital station and follow the signs!
The park has clean public toilets, lots of shade, seating and it’s in walking distance of shops restaurants and stores.
