Taipei’s hidden gems and world-class eats await! 🥢🌇 If Qujing is calling, start your Taiwan adventure in the buzzing streets and squares of Taipei. Whether you’re after culture, history, or Instagrammable bites, here’s my must-see list:
Top Spots to Visit:
1. Sisinan Village Museum (No. 50, Songqin St, Xinyi) — Chill with local art and history, open 09:00–17:00 Tue–Sun. Tip: Go early to avoid crowds and get the best daylight for photos.
2. Liberty Square (No. 21, Zhongshan S Rd, Zhongzheng) — Iconic, super open space for strolls and snaps, open all day. Visit in the morning or sunset for epic lighting!
3. Yongkang Street (Daan District) — Foodie central, open all day. Tip: Don’t miss the mango shaved ice and beef noodles. Go late afternoon for bustling vibes.
4. Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (Zhongzheng District) — Grand monument, changing of the guard every hour, open 09:00–18:00. Tip: Explore the gardens for surprisingly peaceful corners.
5. Taiwan Central Library (No. 20, Zhongshan S Rd, Zhongzheng) — Calm spot for a breather or local research, open 09:00–21:00 Tue–Sat, 09:00–17:00 Sun. Perfect for book lovers and getting out of the midday heat.
Getting Around:
Hop on Taipei’s super-efficient MRT and don’t forget to grab an EasyCard. Walking is comfy in these neighborhoods!
Food Recs:
Try beef noodles at Yongkang Street (recommended: Yong Kang Beef Noodle), mango shaved ice at Smoothie House, and get local pastries at any spot with a line!
Other Tips:
Most places take card and cash. Rain happens—pack an umbrella! Free public WiFi in libraries and some main squares.
