[Takayama Branch Temple Shorenji: Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture]

Although it is the most impressive temple in Takayama city, it doesn't feel like a tourist spot.
The main hall behind the impressive Karamon gate was rebuilt with reinforced concrete after several fires💦
The inner sanctuary is gorgeous and luxurious, befitting a large Jodo Shinshu temple, but the temple is basically for local believers.

This area is a temple town under Takayama Castle, and I thought it was a convenient location to go from Miyagawa Morning Market to Takayama Jinya via the group of traditional buildings.
