The Hida Takayama Old Street in Gifu Prefecture is a must-visit attraction in central Japan. The local Hida beef delicacies are not to be missed, including Hida beef sushi, Hida beef kebabs, meat buns and fried cutlets, etc. The Takayama pudding is also delicious! The pudding is super dense~

There are also a row of sakes for tasting, with more than a dozen varieties. The average price for a tasting is ￥100. Buy only if you are satisfied.

✅Miyagawa Morning Market
One of the three major morning markets in Japan that has existed since the Edo period, there are many local vendors, and we bought some fruits we had never seen before! The taste is quite special 🤣, and the monkey baby souvenirs are unique to the Hida area.

✅ Takayama Jinya/Hida Kokubunji Temple
Takayama City also has the only remaining official residence from the shogunate period in Japan, Takayama Jinya, which is surprisingly beautiful to take pictures inside!
Hida Kokubunji Temple, which has a history of Buddhist culture of 1,250 years, is also a good place to visit on a day trip!
