✓Unryuji Temple
One of the Toyama temples that must be passed on the "Toyama Hiking Trail" in Hida Takayama, Kaizosan Unryuji Temple is a Soto sect temple. The main Buddha is the Eleven-faced Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. It is the oldest Soto sect temple in Hida Province. There is a bell tower gate at the entrance, and it is very popular.
There is a beautiful garden in Kaizosan Unryuji Temple, which was built in the Muromachi period. Azaleas surround the pond, forming a semicircle. Pine trees, camellia trees and maple trees surround it, coexisting harmoniously, and the four seasons have different styles.
Strolling along the Toyama Hiking Trail, along the way, there are green cedar forests and ancient Buddhist temples. It is quite quiet and leisurely. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the old streets of Takayama, it is a good walking route.
