I highly recommend staying overnight in Qiongkushitai before leaving

We stayed for two nights because it's incredibly beautiful—a pristine village at the foot of the Tianshan Mountains. The drive there is long, nearly 5 hours from Yining, so make sure to fully enjoy your time before departing!

-
DAY 1: Light hiking at the entrance of the Wusun Ancient Trail
DAY 2: Hiking/horseback riding in the back mountain

🏨 **Accommodation Options**
✔️ Front Mountain (convenient transportation, drive directly to the homestay entrance, with decent scenery)
✔️ Qiongkushitai Village (walkable to the Wusun Ancient Trail entrance, but the scenery isn't as good as the other two options; cost-effective)
✔️ Back Mountain (most scenic, but less accessible—usually requires parking halfway and hiking/riding a horse up; some offer shuttle service, so confirm in advance)

🏨 **Our Homestay**
📍 Qiongkushitai Yuemu Shanju Homestay
📍 Location: Qiongkushitai Village
👇🏻 We compared many options along the way and chose this one—newly opened in 2025, with clean and comfortable decor, various room types, and run by locals, offering great value.
After arriving, we found the host, a local from Tekes, very warm and responsive to any issues. They also provided travel tips and helped with luggage.

🔆 **Highlights**
- Row-style log cabins 🏕️, spacious rooms, waterside views, includes breakfast
- Two adorable lambs in the yard, and the back-row cabins are photogenic
- Just a 2-minute walk to the Qiongkushitai Big Stone
(Note: Some new-room smell due to recent opening, but it should improve over time.)

🛌 **"Yimu Loft"** 45㎡
✔️ TV 📺 ✔️ Electric kettle ✔️ Fridge ✔️ Smart toilet ✔️ Massage shower 🚿 ✔️ 4 beds (sleeps 4) ✔️ Outdoor terrace
✔️ Waterside

📌 **Tips**
During peak season, homestay prices in Xinjiang are high—book early for better rates and availability!
