Although this is my second visit to Tengchong, it’s my first time checking in at Longxia Creek in Mayu Valley, and I was immediately amazed by the scenery here—layer upon layer of terraced fields cascading down the hillside, a quiet dense forest hiding a babbling stream, and even large patches of pink amaranth flowers by the roadside. Every snap feels so healing! If you’re planning to visit Tengchong soon, don’t miss this hidden gem~
Complete Guide to Exploring Longxia Creek
- Key location: Mayu Valley Longxia Creek (navigate to “Longxia Creek Nature Museum Base” for direct access)
- Recommended duration: 1.5 hours, a relaxed and easy stroll
- Suggested route: Start from “Budu Coffee,” first explore the back mountain rice fields, climb the lookout tower for panoramic views, and finally take the Longxia Creek hiking trail to explore the secret forest
Useful Tips
1. You can combine this trip with “Dongshan Grassland.” After exiting the north gate of the grassland, head to Longxia Creek—it’s on the way without detours.
2. Be sure to climb the lookout tower! From the top, the three-dimensional beauty of the terraced fields is fully revealed. It’s a pity to miss it.
3. The pink amaranth flower fields are nearby and easy to find along the way, so you can avoid the awkwardness of crowded photo spots.
