📅 Itinerary Overview
Theme: Mountain and Sea Wonders × Ancient City Charm × Culinary Feast
Best Season: Spring and Autumn (March-May for flowers, September-November for autumn colors)
Budget Reference: About 800-1200 RMB per person (including mid-range food and accommodation).
🌄 Day 1: Ancient City Exploration and Coastal Scenery
Morning
Taizhou Prefecture City Wall (Jiangnan Great Wall): Climb the "Jiangnan Badaling," 6 kilometers long, with 4,730 meters remaining, offering panoramic views of the ancient Linhai city. It is recommended to enter from Xingshan Gate, focusing on iconic enemy towers like Gujing Tower and Baiyun Tower. Wearing Hanfu for photos is highly recommended (ticket 60 RMB, half price for students).
Ziyang Ancient Street: Stroll along the thousand-year-old street, check in at Longxing Temple’s Thousand Buddha Well and Zhu Ziqing Memorial Hall, and taste intangible cultural heritage snacks like egg white lamb tail (crispy outside, glutinous inside) and Jiujiao seaweed cake (freshly baked and crispy).
Afternoon
Donghu Park: Jiangnan garden style, with a lakeside pavilion and Nine-bend Bridge forming an ink painting scene, perfect for boating (ticket 15 RMB).
Taizhou Ocean World: Watch dolphin shows up close and interact in the touch pool, ideal for family trips (ticket 160 RMB, free for children under 1 meter).
Evening
Old Grain Warehouse Cultural and Creative Park: An art district transformed from old granaries, with night lighting and graffiti walls perfect for photos. Dinner recommended at seafood stall "Rong Xiaoguan," must-try garlic bean noodles and home-cooked large yellow croaker.
⛰️ Day 2: Xianju’s Strange Peaks and Cloud Walk
All day
Xianju Scenic Area:
Nantian Ding Glass Viewing Platform: Suspended 400 meters high, overlooking volcanic rhyolite peaks (combo ticket 169 RMB including cable car).
Ruyi Bridge: Steel-framed glass bridge spanning the canyon, shaped like a ruyi scepter, stunning aerial views.
Hiking Route: South Gate → Nantian Cableway → Lotus Terrace → Wolong Bridge → Beihai Cableway descent, about 4 hours total. Travel light and bring enough water.
Evening
Potan Ancient Town (if open): Explore the "dragon"-shaped ancient street, admire needle-punched boneless lanterns (intangible cultural heritage), and experience salt merchant culture.
Accommodation Recommendation: Xianju Junlan Resort Hotel (near the scenic area) or return to Linhai city center.
🌿 Day 3: Buddhist Origins and Natural Healing
Morning
Guoqing Temple: Sui Dynasty ancient temple, free admission. Must-see Sui plum trees and Sui pagoda inside. Experience monk farming (in October rice harvest season) and enjoy free Zen tea.
Tiantai Mountain Waterfall: A tiered waterfall with a 325-meter drop. Hike to the top of Qiongtai Fairy Valley (combo ticket 160 RMB) to feel the grandeur of "China’s tallest waterfall."
Afternoon
Last-minute food before departure:
Ginger Soup Noodles: Old brand "Maluqiao Ginger Soup Noodles," with ginger soup base brewed with yellow wine, paired with seafood to warm the stomach and dispel cold.
Dumpling Pancake Roll: Linhai snack, recommended at Ziyang Street’s "Baita Bridge Restaurant," thin pancake rolled with meat and vegetables, pan-fried to golden brown.
⚠️ Practical Tips
Transportation:
Taizhou attractions are scattered; self-driving or chartering a car is recommended (300-500 RMB per day). High-speed rail reaches Linhai/Taizhou stations; using "Didi" for city taxis is cheaper.
Accommodation:
Linhai’s Ziyang Old Street area is preferred (such as "Ziyuan" guesthouse) for convenient night tours; near Xianju, resort hotels are available.
Pitfall Avoidance:
Some sections of the Jiangnan Great Wall are steep; wear non-slip shoes. Xianju is prone to fog on rainy days; check the weather in advance.
Special Souvenirs:
Sanmen green crabs (cold chain packed), Xianju bayberries (seasonal), Linhai honey tangerines (available in October)
