🌸 Serenity in the City: Morning Strolls & Scenic Sips at Shinjuku Gyoen 🌿

We arrived early at Shinjuku Gyoen, one of Tokyo’s most iconic urban green spaces, and it was well worth the wait. The park opens at 9:00 AM, and being among the first to enter gave us a quiet, peaceful start to the day—ideal for families, nature lovers, and early risers.

Access & Convenience
There’s a parking facility conveniently located right at the entrance. A friendly tip: keep your admission ticket—you can present it when paying for parking to receive a discount. This thoughtful system makes it easy for those arriving by car.

The Garden Experience
Once inside, you’re greeted by vast, beautifully maintained landscapes—a mix of Japanese traditional gardens, French formal gardens, and English-style lawns. Every section is carefully designed and immaculately kept. It’s the kind of place where you can wander for hours without realizing it.

We especially enjoyed our morning walk through the garden—the perfect way to disconnect from Tokyo’s urban buzz. The paths are stroller- and family-friendly, and there’s plenty of space to relax, picnic, or simply take in the scenery.

Bonus Stop: Starbucks
Tucked inside the garden is a uniquely located Starbucks, where we stopped for breakfast with a view. It’s not often you get to enjoy your coffee surrounded by nature and seasonal blooms!

Final Verdict

Shinjuku Gyoen is a tranquil, meticulously maintained escape in the heart of Tokyo. With scenic walking paths, peaceful gardens, and thoughtful amenities, it’s the perfect place to start your day—or slow it down.
