The National Museum of Nature and Science has so many exhibits that it's impossible to see them all in a day.
The National Museum of Nature and Science is divided into two buildings: the Japan Pavilion and the Global Pavilion.
[The Japan Pavilion's Architecture Is Also a Must-See]
The Japan Pavilion was built in 1931 and is registered as an Important Cultural Property. Not only are the exhibits fascinating, but the architectural design, such as the atrium and stained glass, is also a highlight!
[If You Get Hungry, Head to the Restaurant]
If you're hungry, head to the restaurant in the Global Pavilion!
It's run by Seiyoken, a famous restaurant in Ueno. You can enjoy it at a reasonable price.
There may be a wait at lunchtime. We recommend getting your numbered ticket early and waiting while browsing the exhibits.
[Time Required]
It will take five days!
If you don't decide what you want to focus on before you go, you'll end up not seeing everything in full. It's best to assume that you'll only see about 20% of the entire museum in one day.
[Access]
5-minute walk from JR Ueno Station
10-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Ueno Station
Both routes involve walking through Ueno Park, but they can get hot in the summer, so we recommend taking precautions.
